Finance Traust Bank is counting losses following a fire that broke out at its Jinja Branch on December 31, 2023.
Fire broke out from the socket and destroyed: a heap of documents, a trash bin, one chair and a hoofer.
Reports indicate that the fire started and alarm systems installed at the bank went on, prompted the security guards Okwai Mungu and Okamole Tom, both guards from SGA Security, who also smelt smoke, to immediately report to the Police. The Police responded, used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire before it spread all over the bank.
“Workers of different institutions should always be vigilant with electric sockets and be advised to switch off electricity whenever they are out of the office, to avoid such incidences from occurring,” Enanga told the media in Kampala on Tuesday.
