Josephine Esisa Madewo: Sickle cell activist passes on at 30

By Executive Editor

Friends, family, and relatives are mourning the passing of sickle cell activist Josephine Esisa Madewo.

Madewo passed away in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

She has been described as generous, a great activist, and a wonderful client who dedicated her time to raising awareness about the disease.

She was the first person that taught me about IUD effects on women’s bodies. She was always donating menstrual items and clothes to women when I had donation drives. Sweet Josiey, your legacy and activism will live on forever
