Kampala and Wakiso top Covid-19 new infections.
This, as Uganda yesterday registered 1, 093 new Covid-19 cases.
Results of COVID-19 tests done on 22 December 2021 confirm 1,093 new cases. The cumulative confirmed cases are 131,981.
The breakdown of the new cases is: 1,068 Alerts and Contacts; Kampala (702), Wakiso (231), Mbarara (24), Luweero (18), Jinja (15), Mbale (12), Kabale (5), Arua (5), Iganga (4), Amuru (9), Kiruhura (4), Soroti (9), Busia (3), Napak (2), Tororo (6), Masindi (1), Hoima (1)
Namisindwa (1), Nwoya (1) Kanungu (2), Kyotera (13), 25 Truck drivers; Kyotera (19), Tororo (3), Amuru (2), Kampala (1).
The rise in the infections has been attributed to the laxity within the public and returnees from outside countries through Entebbe International Airport.
