Kampala: Woman goes missing a day to her traditional marriage

Nsangi Police station is currently investigating the disappearance of a woman identified as Bushura Najjuko; a 24-year-old resident of Katereke Cell in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso district.

The victim’s mother, Aisha Nalukenge, says that her daughter went missing on March 10, 2023, at 9:00 am while on her way to Shafuras Bride Make-up Shop in Nakivubo for henna treatment.

Najjuko was preparing for her which was meant to occur last Sunday, March 12, 2023.

While at Nakivubo, Najjuko reportedly handed over her changing dresses to Kivumbi Ali, a boda-boda rider, to take home. She informed him that she would follow later but never showed up, raising concerns about her whereabouts.

Efforts to locate Najjuko have so far been unsuccessful. her family says.

“The make shop owner, whom we believe was the last person seen with her. She confirms that they parted ways at the New Taxi Park since they were heading in different directions,” a family source says.

Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire says the matter has been reported to police.

“We appeal to the public to help in any way possible to ensure the safe return of Najjuko Bushura to her family,” Owoyesigyire said.

The victim was scheduled to marry Faruk Mugalu, a resident of Kagoma.

“Investigations are ongoing, and we urge anyone with information about Najjuko’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station,” Owoyesigyire adds.
