Kamwenge: Man hacks 4 family members to death, gets killed by mob

The Territorial Homicide Police in Kamwenge District, at Rwamwaja Police Station, has on Tuesday, January 16, registered a tragic incident that involved the murder of four people, all members of the same family. They were hacked to death in an incident that happened at Rwencwera village, Kinyonza ward, Nkoma Katelyeba Town Council at 10 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Turyahebwa Gladys, 42; Anita Nuwamanya, 18; Atusasire Onesta, 9, and Ainemani Susan, 16.
Their killer, Asiimwe Sam, 33, was lynched by the mob.
Preliminary findings indicate that Asiimwe had domestic issues over witchcraft. He accused the family of Turyahebwa of being behind it.
So, a source says that he summoned his family meeting on January 15, 2024, and sent away his wife, Nyakato, and the children. It was in the night when he attacked the family of Turyahabwa, killing her and three others, all of the same family.
The residents thereafter descended on Asiimwe and killed him instantly.
Regional Police Spokesman Vicent Twesige confirmed the incident in a statement Tuesday night.
Twesigye condemned the mob action, and condoled the family of the deceased persons.
