Three people have been confirmed dead following Saturday fire at the Hima Cement Plant in Kasese.
Eight others were injured, according to Hima Country Chief Executive officer Jean-Michel Pons.
Hima says that whereas fire was contained with the support from Police, there is an ongoing probe to ascertain the cause of fire.
For now, the cause of fire is attributed to an installation at the Light Diesel Oil tank when the incident occurred.
“Our team is working with the authorities to further investigate the incident and to ascertain the course of events,” Jean-Michel said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the operations have been stopped as the Plant take stock of the incident and to ensure that the fire is fully contained.
