Police in Kireka have arrested a man identified as Spire Ssentongo Samuel, also known as Rasta, in connection with the disappearance of a five-year-old girl who had been reported missing earlier this month.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 11, 2026, Kampala Metropolitan Police confirmed the successful recovery of Musimenta Blessing, a juvenile and daughter of Turyashemerwa Molly.
According to police, the child went missing on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at around 6:00 p.m. from Kireka ‘B’ Zone, Kireka Ward, Namugongo Division, Kira Municipality in Wakiso District, where she had gone out to play with other children.
A formal report regarding her disappearance was lodged at Kireka Police Station on February 8, 2026, at about 3:33 p.m., prompting police to launch investigations.
“One suspect, Sentongo Spire Samuel alias Rasta, was arrested to aid investigations following allegations linking him to the child’s disappearance,” police said.
On February 10, 2026, at around 4:30 p.m., police—working with community members—successfully traced and recovered the child from Acholi Quarters in Kinawataka, Nakawa Division. The child was found at a faith healing church owned by Pastor Muwanguzi Emmanuel Bissoboka, police said.
The juvenile was subjected to a medical examination and was found to be in good health before being safely reunited with her mother.
Police noted that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance are still ongoing.
