Kiteezi Landfill Tragedy: UMI official and her maid among the dead

An official of the Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is among those pronounced dead following a weekend incident in which 24 people died in Kiteezi.
This was after the landfill collapsed on people and livestock.
Search and rescue operations continue in the area.
By 6 p.m. on Tuesday, 24 bodies had been retrieved.
Among them are Brenda Kawuki, an official of UMI, and her maid, Sharon.
“It’s very saddening that UMI lost Brenda in such a manner. Any MBA alumni who have been to Brenda’s office can attest to how sweet, kind, and professional Brenda served MBA students’. RIP Brenda,” said Jacob Olweny.
