Ekwang
The Assistant District Health Officer of Kole District, Mr. Egwang Martin, is expected to appear before the Kole Magistrate’s Court today to take plea on charges of uttering false documents and impersonation.
According to the charges, Egwang allegedly committed the offences in February 2017 while applying for the position of Assistant District Health Officer in charge of Maternal and Child Health at the Kole District Local Government.
Prosecution states that Egwang knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false Postgraduate Diploma transcript in Public Administration and Management, purportedly issued by Uganda Martyrs University, to the Kole District Service Commission during the application process.
The transcript, identified as No. 93342, was allegedly presented with intent to deceive or defraud the commission.
In a separate count, Egwang is accused of impersonation after allegedly presenting a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) certificate issued by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) to a person identified as Egwang Martin, an Estates Engineer at Busitema University.
Prosecution claims that the accused falsely represented himself as the person named on the certificate in order to secure the position.
Egwang is expected to enter his plea before the court as the case proceeds.
