A boda-boda rider and a student of Kyambogo University has died after being hit by a blunt object days ago.
The deceased has been identified as Arinaitwe Nicholas (24/U/BIL/0810/PE). He was pursuing a Bachelor of Interior and Landscape Design at the School of Art and Industrial Design and was attached to Kulubya Hall.
His body was delivered by police to the City Morgue on 21 May 2025 at 8:00 am, bearing a wound above the right ear. He had been supporting himself by riding a boda boda, and he was struck by unknown people on Wednesday morning, resulting in multiple fractures on his skull, and his motorcycle was stolen.
“The postmortem report indicates blunt force trauma as the cause of death. The Dean of Students, on behalf of the University, covered the body treatment, the coffin costs, and transportation of the body of the deceased up to their ancestral home in Mitooma District. The official handover of the body to the family will be at 4:30 pm; thereafter, they will travel,” reads a statement issued by the university.
His body will be laid to rest in Rwanyabuzana Village, Rurehe Sub-county, Mitooma District on Friday.
