Katooke Police are holding a man on accusation of assaulting his side chick’s husband leading to his death.

The suspect has been identified as Charles Bahika and is accused of assaulting to death Emmanuel Mugabe, 46, a resident of Misenyi village, Kafunda parish, Nyakisi sub-county in Kyenjojo district.

Mugabe was the husband of Alice Kakazi who has secretly been seeing Bahika.

According to sources, on 04.02.2022 at about 11pm, the suspect found the deceased at Sanga trading center at Smart Bar along Nyakisi-Kyarusozi road, attacked and assaulted him, causing grievous bodily harm on Mugabe’s forehead. The deceased did not report to the authorities but received treatment at the nearby clinic. However, he died two days later.

A police examination shows that the deceased sustained a deep cut on the forehead and could have led to his death.

By press time, the suspect was still being held at Katooke Police Station, pending a transfer to the Central Police Station, Kyenjojo as further investigations o on.
