Lawyer Nicholas Opiyo: These are Mpuuga’s only options

Ex-Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Mathias Mpuug remains alone and isolated. This was after it emerhed that he “gifted himself” Shs 500 million as service reward having served as LoP.
His party leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has since asked Mpuuga to apologize to the Nation, return the money and resign from the position of Commissioner of Parliament. Mpuuga, however, maintains that he will not resign.
According to human rights lawyer, Nicholas Opiyo, the former opposition leader in Parliament has three options after his disputes with NUP.
“First & most likely for him to return to the comfort of Mengo/Catholics embrace, from whence he perfected his politics. Second, join the NRM, as he seems widely perceived to have been dealing with them during his tenure as LOP. Lastly, and most unlikely, fully disclose his dealings and seek recompense from his political party, seeing that he most likely can not return to DP, his original party home,” said Opiyo.
Mpuuga is expected to address the media on Monday.
