It’s alleged that on the night of June 24, 2024, at around 0100 hours, Umar Shadick, Headteacher of Okio Primary School in Aromo Sub-County, while sleeping in his house with his wife, only identified as Sharafina, allegedly came out of the house for a short call but never returned until around 0700 hours, when he was discovered dead hanging from a mango tree a few meters away from his house.

A team of police officers from LIRA CITY WEST DIVISION POLICE responded to the scene led by the in-charge homicide together with other police officers.

In a statement on Monday, Regional Police Spokesman Jimmy Patrick Okema said, “It’s really a very unfortunate incident, but we are interested in understanding exactly what happened after getting a postmortem report.”

“We call for calmness from the relatives and asked them to be patient and wait for a postmortem report, which will later give us the next course of action,” said Okema.
