An official of the Ministry of Local Government has Thursday morning died in an accident.

The deceased has been identified as John Barisigara. At the time of his death, he was an Assistant Principal Information Scientist at the Ministry.

What happened?

A police report shows that Barisigara was an occupant in a Toyota Hilux registration number UBK 226D when it was knocked by an on-coming Motor vehicle reg No KDG 699S/ ZG 3664 (Beiben truck).

The incident happened at about 6am  at Busei along Iganga – Tororo road.

It’s alleged that the driver of Toyota Hilux swerved to his extreme right as he avoided ramming into the rear of a tractor and was knocked by the said trailer.  Barisigara died on the spot.

By press time, his body  had been conveyed to Iganga Hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
