An official of Oyam district has succumbed to malaria.

Lamex Oming was the District Health Educator, Oyam. He died this morning at the Lira Medical Centre.

According to friends, Oming returned from the field at the weekend and felt unwell. He was taken to a nearby health facility. While there, sources say tests showed +4. He was then transferred to the Medical Centre from where he died. Oyam District Local Government is yet to issue an official statement.

Burial arrangements are on-going.
