Masaka Central Police Station is holding six Subaru drivers over allegations of reckless driving along the Masaka Highway at Kingo and Kadugala.
The motorists were reported by concerned road users and later identified through CCTV footage captured at Kyabakuza, Kijabwemi Roundabout, Nsenene Stage, and the Masaka Welcome Roundabout, where they were allegedly seen overtaking dangerously and competing against one another, putting other road users at serious risk.
The suspects were intercepted at the Kadugala checkpoint and are currently detained pending court proceedings.
Traffic Police Spokesman Michael Kananura has urged all motorists to drive responsibly to protect lives and promote road safety on Uganda’s highways.
