A man in Nakasongola district has committed suicide, after his wife started seeing her church Pastor.

The deceased has been identified as James Kayongo, 32.

The incident happened on Friday morning in Kyabisire Village, Kyabisire Parish in Lwampanga Sub County in Nakasongola district.

Regional Police Spokesman Sam Twiineamaziima confirmed the incident.

Preliminary observations indicate that the body of the deceased was on Saturday found hanging on a tree in his garden.

It is alleged that the deceased had longstanding domestic violence with his wife. He promised to commit suicide because he was accusing his wife of being in love with Pastor. His attempt to stop her from going to the Church failed, hence he decided to commit suicide by hanging. 

By press time, the body had been handed over to the family for burial.
