Nsangi: Woman who went missing a day to marriage hands self to Police
Bushura Najjuko, 24, has handed herself to Police at Nsangi Police Station.
Kampala Gazette reported last evening that Najjuko went missing on Saturday, a day to her traditional marriage.
Her mother, Aisha Nalukenge, had reported that her daughter went missing on March 10, 2023, at 9:00 am while on her way to Shafuras Bride Make-up Shop in Nakivubo for henna treatment.
Najjuko was preparing for her marriage which was meant to occur last Sunday, March 12, 2023.
She was to get married to Faruk Mugalu, a resident of Kagoma.
However, it turns out NAjjuko was running away from forced marriage.
Kampala Metropolitan Police – KMP – says that Najjuko Tuesday handed herself to Police.
“She has reported herself to Nsangi police. She was being forced into marriage she didn’t want. Right now she is before OC CID. We are waiting for OC’s report before we issue a statement,” KMP Spokesperson Patrick Onyango said in a message.
