Ntinda Land: City landlord drags Gen. Isoke, Attorney General & 3 others to Court over interference

By Davis Mugabi

A city landlord, Yusuf Ssemakula, has against run to court over land comprised in LRV 1837 Plot 106 Kira Road.

Ssemakula through his lawyers of MBS Advocates says James Tweheyo, Maj Gen Rtd Moses Lukyamuzi, Gen. Henry Isoke (Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit), Justus Twinamatsiko, Edward Otai and the Attorney General jointly and severally interfered with right of ownership and enjoyment of the said land, which he says amounts to an abuse.

Given the above, Ssemakula now wants the Court to declare that: the defendants are in contempt of lawful court orders that were issued in respect of the land comprised in LRV 1837 Folio 11 Plot 106 Kira Road; that the defendants are not fit to hold any public office; that the defendants acted in jeopardy, sub judice and res-judica when they purportedly probed a matter disposed of by court; that the defendants committed their actions and omissions in their official capacity; that court restrains the defendants from any further interference in the said land and to his rights of ownership and enjoyment; and 1.5 billion payment in damages. Ssemakula also wants costs awarded against the defendants as punitive damages, interest of 25% on costs awarded, cost of suit and “any other relief this Honourable Court may deem fit.”

This is not the first time Ssemakula is dragging the same defendants to Court.

Early this month, Ssemakula sued the same people for interfering with his right to ownership and enjoyment of his land comprised in Kyadondo Block 222 formerly lot 26 now Plots 1785, 1786, 1787, 1910, 1911, 3914, 3915, 3913, 3912, 1799, 1798, 1797, 1796, 1795, 1794, 1792, 1781, 1782, 1770, 1771, 1772, 1773, 1774, 1784 and 1783 in Namugongo, Kira, Wakiso district.

In that matter, the plaintiff asked court for an injunction restraining Isoke and co. from interfering with the said lawful court orders and the plaintiff’s quiet enjoyment of his land.

On top of the above, Ssemakula wants Shs 1 billion, punitive damages, interest of 25% on Shs 1 billion and punitive damages, cost of suit and “any other relief this Honourable Court may deem fit.”
