NUP’s former MP aspirant accused of stealing Shs 9 million Youth Livelihood funds

Authorities in Bugiri district are investigating former Bukooli north Member of Parliament aspirant, Jamali Ayagalachi, who allegedly disappeared with Youth livelihood group money totaling to Shs 9 Million.

According to MK Newslink, Ayagalachi was the chairperson of Ndifakulya Photo studio digital lab, a youth group in Bugiri municipality.

The group had applied for Shs 9 Million to benefit from the government initiative, to which they (group) qualified and received funds.

It is alleged that Ayagalachi, as the chairperson of the group withdrew all the money from the group accounts and disappeared into thin air, only to re-appeared during the 2021 polls, in which he participated as candidate in Bukooli North. He lost the polls to NRM’s Baka Mugabi Stephen.

Ayagalachi is currently a NUP youth mobilizer for eastern region and a regular Panelist on one of the local radio stations, Eastern Voice.
