Ex-Aruu County Member of Parliament, Samuel Odonga Otto, has warned Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake to never start a fight with MP Anthony Akol.
At the peak of the debate on merging UCDA with the Agriculture Ministry, Zaake triggered a fight with Akol in Parliament. Zaake was left hospitalized for nearly a week.
Odonga Otto has previously interfaced with Akol physically in Parliament. The pair fought in Parliament in 2020 over claims that Otto was telling Akol’s voters to eject him from the house for selling their land in Amuru to the government.
The two legislators charged at each other as Akol was escorting a group of his electorate that had just visited him at parliament.
Eye witnesses said Akol confronted Otto around the pigeonhole area and asked him why he was de-campaigning him. Akol reportedly warned Otto that if he kept on accusing him, he would act badly.
It is alleged that Otto didn’t deny the allegations, insisting that indeed Akol sold the land, prompting Akol to punch him. Otto was hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital after the incident.
In a tweet days ago, Otto said: It is about time Zaake Francis grows up and changes his kind of politics.
“We were all there. It can’t be the same person being struck by lightning 10 times in a day. Next time you begin a fight, you may consider starting it near Mityana Cemetery, advisably not with Anthony Akol.
