Ex-Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance has assumed his role at the Bugolobi-based government agency as the Executive Director of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
Nyombi Thembo’s appointment came to light mid this week. According to the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, Thembo will lead the Commission for the next 5 years. The terms started on Friday, December 1, 2023.
In an official statement on Friday, Thembo committed to fostering collaboration and open communication.

I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as Executive Director of @UCC_Official. I express my sincere gratitude to @MoICT_Ug Hon. Chris Baryomunsi, for entrusting me with this task.
I extend my appreciation to the @GovUganda under the esteemed leadership of HE @KagutaMuseveni for creating an enabling environment and commit @UCC_Official’s unwavering support to the realization of Uganda’s aspirations as articulated in the Digital Transformation Roadmap.
