The National Unity Platform (NUP) has fronted Samson Tolit Akecha, formerly of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) for Omoro County MP (Member of Parliament) by-election.

The seat fell vacant when the holder, Jacob Oulanyah, died in the United States on March 20, 2022.

May 26, 2022 has since been set by the Electoral Commission as polling date.

Addressing the media today at the NUP headquarters in Kamwokya, Party President Robert Kyagulanyi named Tolit as party’s candidate.

Tolit emerged favorite out of five candidates – Flavia Rwamto, Brian Mungu, Charles Ochola, Okoth Secondo and Abok Kiiza Oscar.
