One person has been confirmed dead following an aggravated robbery that happeed at 7pm last evening at Green Land Cell, Ticaf Ward, Osukuru Town Council in Tororo district.

The deceased has been identified as Samuel Niyokubawa,7.

Preliminary reports indicate that unidentified armed men armed in overcoats attacked a mobile money operator identified as Didier Sejikeye, 33. He was shot, injured and an unspecified amount of money stolen.

However, a stray bullet hit Niyokubawa, a pupil of Mudakori Primary School and killed him instantly.

While the police are yet to formerly comment on the matter, a report we have seen shows that the victim has been rushed to Mbale hospital while the body of the deceased is at Tororo Municipal Mortuary pending postmortem.

Catridges were retrieved from the scene to aid in the probe.
