A police officer has died after being stoned to death at the weekend.
The deceased has been identified as SPC Francis Tindyebwa.
According to information available, a man identified as Ronald Kasirye with a mental illness approached a police station where Tindyebwa was on guard, started throwing stones at the reception.
One of the stones being thrown hit Tindyebwa on the head.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga says that the stone caused a crack on Tindyebwa’s head.
Tindyebwa was transferred from Kyegegwa where the incident happened, to Mulago Hospital from where he died last evening.
Kasirye has been arrested, Enanga said, “he is being attended to at Kyegegwa hospital.”
