Property worth millions of shillings are reported to have been destroyed following last night fire at Rutooma Secondary School.

Regional Police Spokesperson Samson Kasasira says that Police in Mbarara district is investigating a case of suspected arson in the fire outbreak that gutted a boy’s dormitory at Rutooma secondary school that occurred last night at 2300/c where property was destroyed “but fortunately no student was injured.”

The fire was successfully extinguished with the help of students and school staff and investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire, Kasasira said.
