The official vehicle of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Busia is parked at the Central Police Station – Busia pending inspection by the Inspectorate of Vehicle.

This follows an incident in which the vehicle was involved in.

Reports we have obtained shows that the vehicle, registration number UG 3380C (Ford Ranger) which was being driven by Geoffrey Waswa knocked a motorcycle (Bajaj Boxer) registration number KMEM 205B that was being ridden by Kennedy Mugeni, 30; in an incident that happened along Busia-Majajni road last evening.

Mugeni was rushed to Masafu hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A matter of inquiry has been filed at Busia CPS vide TAR 200/2022. Mugeni’s body remains at the hospital pending postmortem.
