President Yoweri Museveni, who also doubles as the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, has promoted Maj. Gen. Sam Kavuma to the rank of Lieutenant General.
Kavuma is the deputy coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
However, after his promotion, he was recalled from the OWC Secretariat and assigned the new role of ATMIS Force Commander, based in Somalia.
The position fell vacant last week after Lt. Gen. Sam Okiding was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Defense Force (CDF).
The latest promotion and changes were confirmed by Deputy UDPF Spokesman Col. Deo Akiiki.
