The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia has tested positive for Covid-19.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud made the announcement Friday:

My fellow citizens, I would like to inform you that today I tested positive for COVID-19. So far, I have no symptoms but I will continue to self-isolate and serve the people of #Somalia from home. I ask we all keep each other safe by following public health advise and guidelines.

Somalia’s cumulative Covid-19 cases are 26, 748, with 1,361 deaths.

Worldwide, there 542 cumulative number of cases registered with 6.33 million deaths.
