Statement: AIGP (Rtd) Grace Akullo credits God for Police service, saving her life after Covid-19 attack

For the first time since handing over office, AIGP (Rtd) Grace Akullo has opened up about serving the Uganda Police Force for 21 years.

In a statement shared a WhatsApp ground Wednesday morning, Akullo credited God for the service but also for saving her life when she contracted Covid-19.

In her statement, she urged journalists to report factually because “they are serving” God.

Words of Appreciation 

Dear members, 

This is to formerly inform you that I handed over the office of the Director INTERPOL and International Relations on the 26th July 2022. The handover also marked the end of my service time as a police officer of the Uganda police Force after serving for 21years, 19 of which was in criminal Investigations and 11 as Director Criminal investigations, 5 months as the Director INTERPOL and International Relations and 6 months in General duties (2002).

Some of the members here are almost part of my 21yrs journey while I met most of you when I was the Director CID.

I signed out of the UPF contented with the role I played as part of the team in the past 21yrs. 

I thank God Almighty for having giving me chance to serve as a police officer of the UPF and also saving my life when contracted covid 19 in July 2021 which almost took my life. I am glad I am alive today to send these words of Appreciation. 

I thank God Almighty for having allowed us meet and it was for his purpose. I further thank you for the prayers, best wishes and for the support. We shall still cross our professional path in one way or the other.

May God Almighty protect, favour, and bless you and your families.

I urge you to edavour to professionally report because you are serving God as a journalist and at the end of it all, there is judgment.
