Strikes against commodity prices unnecessary, use that energy to grow cassava – Ocailap

By Marvin Ocol

The Deputy Secretary to the Treasury says that the current strike against commodity prices is not necessary.

Patrick Ocailap was speaking at the Post budget dialogue organised by Absa Uganda at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala when he said that: “The Those striking (against commodity prices) should use that energy to go and dig cassava in the villages, and leave our youths in the cnetres to access Emyooga and do business.”

Whereas Ocailap did not name anyone, former opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party President Dr. Col. (Rtd) Kizza Besigye (in the photo after being arrested over walk to work protests recently) has been on the streets on Kampala calling upon Ugandans to rise up against the rising commodity prices.
