Suicide: Police officer shoots self to death at 4am

An officer attached to the VIPPU has committed suicide by shooting himself to death.
The incident happened at Nsambya Police Barracks at 4am.
The officer has been identified as Cpl George Drandi.
His reason for committing suicide is not yet known.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident.
Owoyesigyire says the investigating teams visited the scene of crime and were able to recover a rifle that had been assigned to the deceased. It had 29 rounds of ammunitions, Owoyesigyire said.
“All have been exhibited and body taken to city mortuary Mulago for a post mortem,” Owoyesigyire noted.
