Sumz Food Industries putting up second biggest factory in East Africa, closing in on ISO certification

Snacks giant, Sumz Food Industries is putting up East Africa’s second biggest factory, the company’s Commercial Manager has said.

Johnson Tumwesigye was recently speaking at the launch of 5th edition of Consumer Choice Awards at Gold Course Hotel in Kampala when he said that: “We are putting up the second biggest factory in East Africa”

“The first one i saw it in Kenya. Once this factory is competed, we will buy more raw materials and we will employ more people,” Tumwesigye said adding, “We are at about 85% to acquire ISO certification.”

“The rest, UNBS, Rwanda NBS and Halal are already secured,” Tumwesigye said.

Sumz Food Industries currently has 82 products with the latest addition to the shelves being tooke crisps. Others are gonja crisps, potato crisps g-nuts coated with chillie and plain g-nuts among others.
