Dickson Lugeya, 28, can easily be mistaken for not knowing what he does. He is too humble for the gifted young man he is.
Lugeya was introduced to making any kind of furniture in 2008, when he was in Primary Seven. Today, he is the go-to furniture person in Kampala and the surrounding areas.
Learned from his father: Dickson Lugeya doing his work.
“I started by sanding paper because he taught me how to do good and quality work. I used to do smoothing, polishing, and vanishing. Then, slowly by slowly, I started making simple furniture, until now.
“I polished my skills on the job,” Lugeya says.
He is motivated by showrooms like B Plus.
Lugeya employs more than three young people and several others indirectly.
His clients come through referrals and those that contact him directly through social media, among other platforms.
Lugeya, an extremely creative young mind, has his store in Namungoona, Rubaga Division.
