Two intern doctors attached to Kitovu Hospital in Masaka have drowned.

The deceased have been identified as Dr. Emma Kidambire and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah.

Investigating officers say the pair last evening went to have fun at Nabugabo Sand Beach.

However, they are said to have entered the water without life jackets.

Their bodies were this afternoon retrieved and taken to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem.

Dr. Kidambire was the head of Interns at Kitovu Hospital in Masaka and a student at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) while Dr. Ahmed Abdullah, a Somalia citizen, was pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and surgery at Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
