Tormentors of UCU students finally arrested

The Police have in custody a young man who has been terrorizing students of Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono.
The suspect is Alan Kitanda, a son of the a Defense Secretary in the area.
According to reports, Kitanda and others attacked UCU students, making away with handbags, phones, watches and other valuable. He and his gang also broke into hostel rooms and stole electronics such as flat iron, smart TV sets, among others.
A search carried out at his home led to recovery of suspected stolen items such as TV sets, watches, handbags, mobile phones, pangas, keys, laptops and gas cylinders among others.
Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga confirmed the arrest.
He said that whereas Kitanda’s accomplices are at large, the Police also has in custody a shop owner in the area who was buying from Kitanda. The shop and owner has been identified as Anatoli Kaketo. His wife, too, is in custody to aid investigations.
