Uganda Law Society: Two-Man Race Declared as Kipaalu Steps down for Atukunda
By Davis Mugabi
Hours to voting, contender Keneth Kipaalu has stepped down.
Kipaalu had declared interest in being the President of the Uganda Law Society (ULS). Other names include Isaac Atukunda and Isaac Ssemakadde.
In a statement, Kipaalu does not reveal why he stepped down on Thursday, days before the Saturday polls.
Neither does he endorse anyone.
However, those in the know say that Kipaalu stepped down in favor of Isaac Atukunda. Atukunda is a managing partner at Credo Advocates.
Ssemakade has been very popular on social media and very popular among the ‘elite’ lawyers.
Whoever wins the Saturday polls will replace Bernard Oundo.
