Uganda’s Mutyaba arrives in France for medical ahead of his move to Bordeaux
Travis Mutyaba has on Monday arrived in France for medical tests ahead of his planned move to Bordeaux.
Mutyaba had his long contract with Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek terminated at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The decision to terminate with Zamalek was reached between the club and his representative with a move to Europe in sight.
Zamalek whose transfer ban was extended until the January transfer window of 2026 agreed to terminate him because they didn’t want to close doors on such a developing player.
The Egyptian side’s ban came as a result of late wages owed to former Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib.
Bordeaux a team that is set to become Mutyaba’s new home plays in French National 2 – Group B.
However, they are a famous club in France and played in the French Ligue 1 and won they have won it six time with their last triumph coming in 2009.
The former Uganda Premier League champions’ player is now a mainstay in the Uganda Cranes squad and many believe he could be the next big thing in Ugandan thing.
