Umeme Engineers arrested over vandalism of electric installations

The Police have in custody engineers of the power distributor, Umeme over vandalism of electric installation.

The suspects are: James Kamlumba and Joseph Ssemyalo, attached to Umeme’s Banda office.

According to sources, the duo were arrested by detectives attached to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and a search conducted at the rented house in Namugongo led to recovery of electricity equipment suspected to have been vandalized.

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga told the media Monday morning that the suspects, including an electrician in Ndejje identified as Ezra Mudimba, remain in custody as further investigations continue.
