UNTOLD STORY: Why NRM Boss, Lumolo’s daugher, Asha, is sticking to her ex-husband’s property
For some time now, Kampala Gazette has written about Asha Nabulo Mafabi and her plot to grab Hajji Kajji Kafo Mutwalibi’s house. Although the house has since been sold, Asaha continues to stick to the house like a tick. The house is located in Half London, Mbale City. Asha is the daughter of Hajji Sulaiman Mafabi Lumolo, the proprietor of Kampala Modernity Car, deports off Bugolobi, and chairman of the NRM Party in Sironko district.
BACKGROUND
About one year ago, Asha and Hajji Kafo got married in a lavish ceremony. Little did their guests know that the marriage would not last. In fact, the couple did not even stay together for one year. In fact, Hajji Kafo says that he has lived for over seven months without sharing a bed with Asha. In a family meeting that was aimed at reconciling Asha and Hajji Kafo, Asha told her father that she no longer loved Hajji Kafo. This meant that the marriage had reached a point of no return. It was then that Hajji Kafo ordered Asaha to leave his house, for he planned to do other things with it. In fact, he sold the house. However, Asha has declined to vacate the said house.
Asha (right) wants to use the house (left) as a political opportunity ahead of 2026 Parliamentary polls.
WHY ASHA IS DYING TO LEAVE IN HAJJI KAFO’S HOUSE
Asha is a politician. She is the current flagbearer for the Sironko district woman MP slot after losing to recently appointed state minister for Karamoja affairs Florence Nambozo Mayoga in the 2021 general elections. Asha still wants to contest in the 2026 elections against Nambozo. So, well-placed sources say that Asha is strategically eyeing two things:
1. To continue staying in Hajji Kafo’s house and force him to throw her out. That way, she will earn sympathy votes in 2026. Secondly, she fears that if she leaves willingly, her political opponents will use it to discredit her, saying that marriage failure cannot lead them, and so she will lose the election.
Our sources say that Hajji Kafo does not want to be part of Asha’s politics, and as such, he has left everything to the new owner of the house. A friend of Asha told the Kampala Gazette that Lumolo’s daughter at some point negotiated with Hajji Kafo’s to have her at least rent the house as a tenant. She asked him for an agreement. However, Hajji Kafo reportedly told Asha that he cannot be a party to an agreement because he sold the house. After hearing that the agreement would be with the new owner of the house, Asha refused to commit to the rent agreement. Now, she is just living in the house with a straight face, waiting to be thrown out, and she gets sympathy votes, or she remains there and possibly wins an election on the account that she is a married woman.
