Milton George Mukuula, the Trade and Marketing Manager, Uganda Baati, has apologized to Mathias Ssemogerere Joga and Ben Mbuvi for messages he created and posted on WhatsApp groups, speculating why the pair left their jobs at Nile Breweries Limited (NBL). Ssemogerere was NBL’s Divisional Sales Manager, while Mbuvi was Commercial Director.
The content was created in March 2024.
“In March 2024, I (George Milton Mukula) authored and posted on WhatsApp an article containing reasons for the departure of Mr. Mathias Ssemwogerere Joga from his position as Divisional Sales Manager at Uganda Breweries Limited. I now wish to categorically state and confirm that the content I shared was from unverified sources and not based on fact,” reads part of the public apology published in the Daily Monito on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Mukula adds that “the article contained unfounded, malicious, and false allegations against the person and character of Mr. Mathias Ssemwogerere Joga, who is widely known and respected for his professionalism and ethical standards, especially in corporate and business management. The same article had unfounded, malicious, and false allegations against Mr. Ben Mbuvi, the former Commercial Director.”
“I therefore unreservedly apologize for the defamation of person and character that the said artich occasioned to both Mr. Mathias Ssemwogerere Jog and Mr. Ben Mbuvi and for all the damage that has been occasioned. I appeal to the general public to disregard the content of the said article as neither represents nor reflects their true character or personality,” said Mukula.
