Kawempe Police Division are probing circumstances under which an officer attached to the UPDF shot and killed a parent as they picked children from Kawanda S.S in an incident that happened Friday at 9:50am.

The deceased has been identified as Ronald Waligo. Waligo was riding his motorcycle registration number UEG 721C when the suspect squeezed him at the school gate.

When he approached the driver and complained, in a manner that drew the attention of other motorists, the driver returned to his car, picked a gun and shot Waligo to death. He then drove off at a break neck speed.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire says they are retrieving CCTV footage to identify the number plate of the vehicle. He says that working with the UPDF, they also hope to identify the driver the bring him to book over murder.
