Why Police Officer brutally shot dead an Indian money-lender in banking hall

By Davis Mugabi

Details have emerged showing why a police officer identified as No.67029 PC Ivan Wabwire may have shot to death an Indian money-lender this afternoon in Kampala.

The incident happened at Raja Chambers along the Parliament Avenue.

Uttam Bhandari, a Director of TFS Financial Services died in the process.

Preliminary fidings show that the officer had acquired a loan from Bhandari’s company back in 2020.

However, he approached the deceased Friday to inquire how much the financial institutional institution demanded him so a certain bank could buy it off.

It appears the discussion did not go as anticipated, attracting the shooting.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, says that after the shooting, the suspect fled on a boda-boda to the Central Police Station in Kampala from where he abandoned the killer gun.

Oyango says the hunt is on for Wabwire.

By press time, the body was at Mulago hospital pending a postmortem.
