Youth councilor stabbed in fight between Arsenal and Manchester City supporters dies

The Police in Katwe are investigating a tragic incident in Masajja A, Makindye Sabagabo that resulted in the stabbing of Allan Kakumba, 25, a resident of Kibira A and Youth Councilor of Masajja A. He was rushed to Mulago Hospital but unfortunately passed away on the 29th, 01, 2023. Two suspects, Eddie Ssemakula and David Abigaba, are now in police custody as investigations continue, Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire says. “We have also recovered the alleged Murder weapon of a knife that has also been exhibited.”
Kampala Gazette has however learnt that Kakumba was stabbed in a fight between Arsenal and Manchester City supporters the previous night.
According to an investigating officer who has preferred to speak on the condition of anonymity, Abigaba and Semakulae were fighting over the Arsenal Vs Manchester City match (in which Arsenal lost 1-0).
“Allan intervened only to be stabbed by Eddie,” a source says.
The source says that “Allan was rescuing his brother Titus Kyendofrom their neighbors Abigaba and Ssemakula who had picked a quarrel that resulted in fighting due to the said football match.
Owoyesigyire says the duo is being held for murder.
