The National Unity Platform (NUP) has finalized plans to support youthful supporter Moses Kibuuka instead of Abed Bwanika in the 2026 parliamentary polls.
The seat, Kimanya-Kabonera, is currently represented by Abed Bwanika. Bwanika subscribes to the NUP.
However, Bwanika sides with ex-Leader of Opposition Mathias Mpuuga. Mpuuga, the Nyendo-Mukungwe MP, recently launched a political party named the Democratic Alliance.
“To the people of Kimanya Kabonera, you are lucky to have such a caring and honest leader as your next MP. Let’s replace corruption with honesty and greed with service. Together, we can make it happen!” says Pius Jadwar. Jadwar is a rights activist and a loyal supporter of Robert Kyagulanyi-led political party.
It remains to be seen what Bwanika’s game plan will be like.
