Friends, family, and relatives are mourning the passing of sickle cell activist Josephine Esisa Madewo.
Madewo passed away in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
She has been described as generous, a great activist, and a wonderful client who dedicated her time to raising awareness about the disease.

She was the first person that taught me about IUD effects on women’s bodies. She was always donating menstrual items and clothes to women when I had donation drives. Sweet Josiey, your legacy and activism will live on forever

Josey, a radiant soul who found joy in every moment. Her unwavering support for friends’ dreams & dedication to raising awareness about sickle cell disease left an indelible mark. One thing i learnt from her was try to make time for your different friends. RIP, dear friend.
