Former Leader of the Opposition, Winnie Kiiza, has revealed that she was not treated to the Shs 500 million service award like in the case of Mathias Mpuuga.
In a post on X on Saturday afternoon, Kiiza said she was recognized with an accolade, a calendar, a diary and a bag.
“Forever humbled by the kind gesture of Parliament,” Kiiza said.
Some people had asked if former LoPs like Kiiza and Prof. Ogenga Latigo were treated to a similar lavish send-off.
Kiiza’s post comes at a time when the country has just learnt that the immediate former Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and current Commissioner of Parliament, Mathias Mpuuga, walked away with Shs 500 million as service award.
His party has since asked him to apologize, return the money and step down from the position of Commissioner of Parliament.
However, Mpuuga says he will not resign.
