The family of the fallen lawmaker, Cecilia Ogwal, has confirmed that her body will arrive in Uganda on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Mrs. Ogwal passed on in India on Thursday morning. 

Since then, the family has been in and out of meetings aimed at granting her a decent burial.

“The family can thus far confirm that Imat’s remains shall arrive in the country on Sunday, 21st January 2024, at 2 pm aboard Emirates Airline“, said a statement issued Friday afternoon.

“There are several tentative plans that have been drawn whilst awaiting final word from other stakeholders. A final programme should be confirmed in the course of today and shall immediately be shared with the public. For now, please bear with us as plans are aligned with various parties.”
