Chaos: KCCA signs new striker after fresh club offers Shaban Shs 280M sign-on fee

By Ivan Ssali

KCCA FC has signed a new striker, Emmanuel Anyama, from Big League side Kaaro Karungi. The signing comes after reports of a new club coming on short notice to give Mohammad Shaban US$60, 000 (Shs 280 million) as a sign-on fee. Earlier, we reported that KCCA FC were closing in on extending striker Mohammad Shaban’s contract. In the new contract, Shaban was demanding US$ 50, 000 (about Shs 200 million) as a sign-on fee. However, KCCA FC was reportedly offering Shs 110 and Shs 6 million in monthly pay.

Sources say the new club has caused instability at the Lugogo-based side as Shaban may head out. It is not clear which club this is. However, only Vipers SC is capable of paying that amount of money as a sign-on fee in Uganda.

This is a developing story.
