Singer Bebe Cool has once again reignited debate in Uganda’s music industry after declaring Cindy Sanyu a far better artiste than Sheebah Karungi.
Speaking during the unveiling of his annual Bebe Cool List, the Love You Everyday singer praised Cindy’s vocal ability and experience, insisting that she outshines Sheebah on technical grounds.
“Cindy can sing even on a fake microphone and still sound good,” Bebe Cool said, emphasizing that Cindy’s strength lies in her live performance ability and long-standing experience in the music industry.
According to Bebe Cool, experience is a key factor in assessing artistry, and in that regard, Cindy stands above Sheebah.
Both artistes featured on Bebe Cool’s 2025 list, though under different categories. Cindy made it onto the collaboration list following her song with Omega 256, while Sheebah appeared on the list in recognition of her return to music after maternity leave.
Commenting on the long-running rivalry and the highly publicized battle between the two female artistes, Bebe Cool said he never doubted the outcome.
“The moment the battle was announced, I already knew the winner,” he said. “Cindy.”
The remarks have sparked renewed discussion among fans and industry players, reopening a rivalry that has divided opinion within Uganda’s entertainment scene for years.
